No Snitching

Tonight's topic "No Snitching"
In the African American communities there's a street motto that many live by, the "No Snitching" rule. No snitching basically mean "Don't talk to cops no matter what." It originated as a policy to counter the deals that were being offered by police to people they arrested in order to share information they knew about other illegal activity that was going on. But now if has taken on a completely different spin. If you divulge information on a murder, rape, robbery, you have broken a code of "Honor" in the black community. You are then labeled a snitch and must face the consequences. Sometimes the consequences may be a beat down, sometimes you are snubbed by the "Hood" and sometimes, it may lead to death. Because of these things, people are reluctant and quite possibly just afraid to speak out. Tonight's topic is "What are the ramifications of the "NO Snitching" movement in our communities and how do we eradicate it?"
